Click any track in the sidebar list to toggle it on the map. The map flies to fit the track in view. Click it again to hide it. Multiple tracks can be visible at the same time.
Double-clicking a track in the sidebar opens the detail panel, which shows full stats: distance, duration, elevation gain/loss, min/max elevation, point count, and the source filename.
Hold Option (macOS) or Alt (Windows/Linux) and click any visible track line on the map to highlight it and scroll to it in the sidebar.
Use the satellite button (🛰️) in the top-right of the map to switch between the outdoors topo map and satellite imagery with street labels.
Type in the search box to filter tracks by name or tag. Results update instantly.
When checked (default), the sidebar only shows tracks whose bounding box overlaps the current map view. Pan or zoom the map to see different tracks.
When checked, every track in the current map viewport is automatically rendered on the map in blue. The set updates as you pan or zoom. Useful for exploring what's in an area without clicking tracks individually.
Sort the track list by newest first, oldest first, longest first, or name A–Z.
Click the Heatmap button (or press H) to overlay a density heatmap of all tracks in the current viewport. Frequently-traveled paths glow red; less-used paths are blue or green.
On your own map the heatmap is only available when zoomed in to an area smaller than 5 miles across — zoom in if the button is greyed out. (This limit doesn't apply when viewing a share: a share's heatmap is prepared in advance, so you can pan and zoom the whole bundle freely.)
Open a track's detail panel (double-click it in the sidebar), then type a tag in the tag input at the bottom and press Enter. Tags are lowercased automatically.
In the detail panel, click the × on any tag to remove it.
Tags appear in sidebar search. Typing a tag name (e.g. hiking) will filter the list to only tracks with that tag.
Click the Upload button in the sidebar header to open a file picker. Multiple files can be selected at once.
Drag one or more files directly onto the sidebar to upload them without using the file picker.
.gpx — standard GPS track format exported by most devices and apps.
.slopes — Slopes ski app session files.
.zip — a zip archive containing any mix of .gpx and .slopes files (up to 400 files, 100 MB).
Uploading a file with the same filename as an existing track replaces it while preserving any tags you've assigned.
Double-click a GPX track to open the detail panel, then click the pencil (✏️) button. This opens the track editor.
Drag the Start and End sliders to trim points from the beginning or end of the track. The map updates in real time to preview the trimmed path.
Click Cut section to enter cut mode, then click two points on the map to define the section to remove. Repeat to make multiple cuts. Click Undo cut to remove the last cut.
Click Save to library to overwrite the track with your edits. The original file is preserved — you can restore it at any time from the detail panel. Click Download GPX to export the edited track as a file without saving.
If a track has been edited, the detail panel shows a Restore original button. Clicking it discards all edits and reverts the track to its original state.
Anything you upload is visible only to you until you opt to share it. There are two ways to share: a per-track Public flag (your profile page) and on-demand Shares (a tokenized URL covering a chosen set of tracks).
Open a track's detail panel (double-click it in the sidebar) and tick the Public checkbox to add it to your profile page at /@your-handle. Anyone with the link can see your public tracks (the site itself may require sign-in to view them); uncheck it to remove the track from your profile. Untoggling does not affect any shares the track is part of.
A share bundles a chosen set of tracks behind an unguessable URL. Anyone with the link can view the bundle in read-only mode — they don't need an account to be invited to the share, but the site itself may require sign-in to view it.
Use Create share in the sidebar actions row to build one from the tracks currently visible on the map, or Shares in the sidebar footer to open the management dialog where you can create, edit, rotate (regenerate the URL), or delete shares.
Tick Open on heatmap when creating or editing a share to have it open on the density heatmap instead of individual track lines — handy for a clean overview of a bundle with lots of tracks. Viewers can still toggle to the individual tracks; this is a starting view, not a restriction.
When someone visits your profile or share URL, they see the map and sidebar list but no upload, edit, delete, or tagging controls. The same applies if you visit your own share URL — useful for confirming the link works as intended.
Navigate to /@handle to see that user's public tracks, or open a share URL they sent you. If a share has been deleted or its token rotated, the URL shows an "unavailable" page rather than revealing whether the user exists.
Tracks you upload are private by default and only visible to you. You can opt individual tracks into a public profile or bundle a set of tracks into a shareable link — both are under your control. Site administrators have technical access to all stored data, but will only access it to investigate a bug or respond to a data request.
